Constantly challenged to prove training impact, the GM Center of Learning developed a measurement initiative that quickly became an integral part of every learning project. In collaboration with stakeholders, learning teams define the goal of requested training and create Measurement Maps that specify the level of data necessary to measure outcomes. Metrics move from levels 0 to 4 and above; the more robust studies merge people and training data, further cementing training to GM business goals. The initiative earned GM a Silver Award for Best Advance in Learning Measurement in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
