Serving Safety Leaders: Cardinal Health’s Innovative Authorized User Program (2024 Case Study)
Cardinal Health revolutionized its Authorized User (AU) certification program for nuclear medicine safety, creating an innovative on-demand learning experience for PET Manufacturing and Nuclear Pharmacy employees.
The redesigned program features interactive eLearning modules, hands-on activities, and digital assessments, resulting in a 100% completion rate for PET AUs and significant cost savings across the business. By internalizing the Pharmacy AU Program and extending it to Nuclear Pharmacy Technicians, Cardinal Health achieved direct cost savings of $198,000 and cost avoidance of $530,000.
The program ensures uninterrupted operations, maintains regulatory compliance, and prioritizes employee safety in handling radioactive materials.
Cardinal Health earned a Gold award for Best Certification Program in the 2024 Brandon Hall Group™ HCM Excellence Awards.®
