Advancing Networking Skills to Achieve Results at PepsiCo (2016 Case Study)
When a competency assessment revealed a gap in networking skills among sales associates, PepsiCo developed a course to help them extend their professional networks by identifying key stakeholders and adding value to the relationships. The fast-paced, engaging course uses a real-world simulation where users make choices to control the path they take to connect with internal and external contacts. Storylines and context are introduced to provide learners with information as they figure out how to best allocate their time. Custom feedback is provided at the end of the simulation based on the ultimate outcome. The course runs just 30 minutes and can be taken multiple times with different results and lessons. The initiative earned a Gold Award for Best Advance in Custom Content in the 2016 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
