AIVL’s Learning Resources Build Empathy for Drug Users (2018 Case Study)

Australian Injecting & Illicit Drug Users League’s (AIVL’s) “A Normal Day” is a six-episode podcast series with practical resources for healthcare professionals and patients. As demand for new hepatitis C virus treatments increases, healthcare professionals’ understanding of the issues faced by people who use drugs and confidence in working with these communities are so important. The opportunity for learning is delivered through an innovative series of podcasts to build empathy and understanding and accompanying practical resources to arm learners with the tools they need to have better conversations and build better relationships. AIVL won a Gold Award for Best Unique or Innovative Learning and Development Program in the 2018 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
