Blackboard Built Its Mobile Video-Conferencing Tool For Trainers and Learners (Tech Review)
Blackboard built its app to complement its LMS and make learning available to professionals and students anytime, anywhere, on any device. The app was specifically designed for smaller screens, focused on optimization and speed for such activities as accessing content, completing courses and connecting with colleagues. Blackboard Collaborate is a video-conferencing tool built into the app so trainers can easily share files and video while interacting with a class and participants can engage by using the chat feature, sharing video and voice, using whiteboard-drawing tools or joining breakout groups. Blackboard earned a Bronze Award for Best Advance in Mobile Learning Technology in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Awards.
