KPMG’s Use of Short Videos, Behavioral Expert Embraced by Employees (2018 Case Study)
KPMG produced a series of five short (three- to four-minute) intranet videos, presenting effective behavioral skills for building better business relationships, using the neuroscience findings of Dr. Michael L. Platt, director of the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative and professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. KPMG’s engaging Dr. Platt’s reputable scientific expertise for the design of its “soft skill” learning program not only has created acceptance of this learning intervention by its learners, who are frequently skeptical of such soft skills programs, but early findings (i.e., the growing number of online visits and complete viewings, online feedback and word of mouth in company social media) suggest that this video approach to employee development has been eagerly embraced by employees. KPMG won a Silver Award for Best Use of Video for Learning in the 2018 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
