NACS Collects Data To Compare eLearning to Blended Learning (2017 Case Study)
When civil servants needed to strengthen their teamwork skills, Taiwan’s National Academy of Civil Service created team leadership training for senior staff. But there was a twist. In collaboration with Taso Group and the New Asia Institute of Human Metrics, the academy divided 80 trainees into two groups to explore the feasibility of blended learning versus eLearning. Both groups had similar topics, but the blended-learning group had both eLearning and classroom training. The result demonstrated that both types of training enhanced participants’ teamwork competencies and knowledge transfer. However, the blended-learning group was more satisfied with the training. NACS earned a Bronze Award for Best Use of Blended Learning in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
