Reliance Industries’ L&D Team Takes Chance, Reduces Product Loss (2018 Case Study)

Product loss and its control are among the most critical activities for a petroleum retail business with financial and legal implications. Reliance Industries’ L&D took up the business need in a project mode and designed a complete “on-field” assessment and training module. This required training and certification of a team of trainers, extensive planning and coordination for phase-wide roll-out, root cause identification and analysis, stakeholder engagement and result assessment. This project also focused on continued learning at the retail outlet level, which sustained the product loss control. The business needs of bringing product loss under control were​ addressed with a 65% drop in product loss, 76% positive feedback on product loss control training effectiveness and 91% positive feedback on increased operational efficiency. This project enabled L&D to establish credentials for enterprise-wide intervention and execution capabilities. Reliance Industries won a Gold Award for Best Results of a Learning Program in the 2018 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
