TATA Consultancy Services hires ~800 people each quarter, and each new hire received 17 to 18 documents to download, print, sign, and post or scan for email. Sometimes, the onboarding team didn’t receive them. Thus, the technology company digitalized the pre-joining documents, improving the candidate experience and eliminating mundane admin tasks. The software allows the onboarding manager to configure documents based on the state where a candidate will work and other parameters. For candidates, the entire process takes only a few minutes. The digitized files are stored securely and easily accessible to HR. This innovation earned TCS a Bronze Award for Best Advance in Onboarding Technology in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Awards.
