Tofaş' Training Draws College Graduates to Automotive Sales Careers (2017 Case Study)
Tofaş Türk Otomobil Fabrikası, facing the need to recruit knowledgeable people as sales representatives in the automotive industry, created a Sales Academy program that teaches new college graduates such topics as automotive technology, competition, market analyses, problem-solving, communication, management, consumer behavior, and changing customer expectations. The program uses classroom and on-the-job training where participants work at Fiat dealerships thoughout Turkey. The macro vision for the program was to drive the sector’s social responsibility, including gender equality. Eleven women were among the trainees, and six have been hired. Tofaş earned a Bronze Award for Best Advance in Talent Acquisition Process in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
