ADM Enhances Skills To Prepare Technicians for the Future (2017 Case Study)
With an increasing number of employees retiring, Archer Daniels Midland leaders developed training to enhance technicians’ skills and make them eligible for future jobs and supervisory positions. ADM collaborated with Vector Solutions on construction training covering such trades as pipefitter, welder, millwright, and mason. A separate program for maintenance training includes mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, and HVAC. The programs have meant labor savings by reducing duplication of work, with employees accessing resources as needed and completing tasks correctly the first time. ADM earned a Bronze Award for Best Results of a Learning Program in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards.
