AMD’s Path to Fellow Program Triples Women’s Technical Leadership Promotions (Case Study)

AMD implemented a highly successful mentoring program called “Path to Fellow” to increase female representation in technical leadership roles. The program paired high-potential female engineers with current Fellows for 9-month mentoring relationships, focusing on career development, technical expertise, and leadership skills. The initiative achieved a 94% engagement rate, increased employee satisfaction scores, and successfully promoted more women to Fellow positions. The program’s success led to its continuation with a second cohort in 2024 and inspired additional development opportunities for female technical leaders at AMD.

AMD earned a Silver Award for Best High Potential Development in the 2024 Brandon Hall Group™ HCM Excellence Awards.®
