Measuring What Matters: How HCLTech’s DEI Maturity Index Powers Excellence (Case Study)
HCLTech developed a comprehensive DEI Maturity Index (DMI) to measure and track diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across their global organization. The index features four progressive stages (Emerging, Progressing, Tactical, and Integrated) with 40+ identified levers spanning multiple DEI pillars including gender, culture, persons with disability, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. Through this data-driven approach, HCLTech achieved significant improvements, including 21% growth in gender ratio over 5 years, 65% increase in persons with disability headcount, and industry-leading voluntary attrition rate of 12.4%. The DMI enables systematic assessment, accountability, and continuous improvement while aligning DEI initiatives with business objectives.
