About Course

Culture does not change because an organization decides it should. It changes because people within the organization act differently, consistently, over time and because those who lead that shift are credible, connected, and committed to the work. Recognition and Rewards programs that aim to shift culture face a specific challenge: the behaviors they are trying to reinforce exist within a broader organizational environment that either supports or undermines that reinforcement. This micro-course examines the human fundamentals of culture change in the context of R&R: who drives it, what enables it and what conditions must be in place for behavioral shifts to take hold and endure. Attention is given to the role of culture champions: why they matter, how they are identified and what organizations must provide to ensure they are effective.
