REQUIREMENTS

  • The CTMS Certification Program is a three-phase certification program, and the phases must be completed in order. This is Phase 1.
  • Phase 1 covers all eight skill groups and 24 CTMS competencies. You may complete the lessons in any order, but you must complete every lesson in Phase 1 before moving on to Phase 2.
  • You may pause or exit at any time and pick up right where you left off from your Dashboard the next time you sign in.
  • Be sure to review the Important Resources for this Course, including the CTMS Resource Guide and the CTMS Excellence in Practice companion. You’ll refer to them again in Phases 2 and 3.
  • The last page of each lesson is a quiz. You must pass each quiz with a minimum score of 75%, and you have three attempts.
  • After each attempt, you’ll see your score. To maintain certification integrity, we do not reveal which questions you answered correctly or incorrectly, and correct answers are not provided.
  • If you don’t reach 75% in three attempts, you may request a quiz reset, which gives you three more attempts. To request a reset, email us at [email protected]. We respond as quickly as possible, but requests received after our business day may be answered the next business day.
  • Once you have completed all Phase 1 lessons and passed each quiz, you will move on to Phase 2.

About Course

The Certified Talent Management Strategist (CTMS) certification from Brandon Hall Group prepares talent professionals for the expanded role talent management now plays in the enterprise. Organizations are navigating rapid technological change, workforce transformation, shifting business models and rising employee expectations. Talent leaders are no longer expected to manage isolated HR processes. They are expected to connect performance, leadership, succession, careers, rewards, development, mobility, analytics and technology into one talent system that drives business outcomes. The CTMS framework draws on Brandon Hall Group’s more than 30 years of human capital research and defines 24 competencies organized into eight skill groups across two competency groups. Professional Competencies build the individual capabilities of the talent management strategist, and Organizational Competencies build the capabilities needed to support organizational objectives.

The course pairs the CTMS Resource Guide with the Excellence in Practice companion. The companion brings each competency to life through seven Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award-winning programs from 3M, Colgate-Palmolive, Reliance Industries, Rockwell Automation, Salesforce, Sanofi and Verizon. You’ll move from understanding each competency’s definition, to recognizing it in real talent solutions, to applying it in your own organization. The certification is completed in three phases. Phase 1 assesses your knowledge of all eight skill groups and 24 competencies through scenario-based questions. Phases 2 and 3 ask you to demonstrate your command of the competencies through case study work, first with an award-winning scenario and then with one from your own organization.
